Spitz group

rhomboid

Definition:

Function:

rhomboid is involved at the very earliest stage in morphogenesis, prior to fertilization, when the dorsoventral axis in the oocyte is determined.

Rhomboid also appears to be an essential element in the development of the extremely delicate and fascinating vein structure of the insect wing.
