DrosophilaVertebrate Genes in Development:

BICOID-like hox

orthodenticle

Definition:

Function:

orthodenticle (otd) encodes homeodomain-containing transcription factor (paired-group-like), but OTD lacks a paired domain. otd is essential for defining the antennal segment, which determines both the eye and the antenna, as well as parts of the brain.

Protein:

OTD is homeodomain-containing transcription factor (paired-group-like), but it lacks a paired domain.
